As a Government Employee, you can avail the benefit of Special Casual Leave when you join Kahlur Adventures on a trekking expedition of your choice. As per the rules of the Pay Commission, Special Casual Leave (SCL) can be availed for upto 30 days in a calendar year for mountaineering or trekking expeditions through a registered organization. Day 1- Arrive Delhi | Elevation: 300M
Welcome to Incredible India, the land of ancient history and culture. India has all the landscapes that are in nature. You will land in the capital of India, New Delhi. Kahlur Adventures’ airport representative will pick you up from the airport and take you to a hotel pre-booked for you. On this day, you can explore Delhi on your own and relish various cuisines and tourist spots. You will stay overnight at the hotel.

Day 2- Delhi – Rishikesh | Distance: 270 kms | Duration: 6 – 7 hours | Elevation: 340M
After breakfast, you will check out from the hotel and begin your drive to Rishikesh. The drive is 270 km long and you will be accompanied by Kahlur Adventures’ representative. On this 5-6 hours long journey, the views outside your window will keep changing as you leave Delhi behind and enter the state of Uttarakhand. Upon reaching Rishikesh, you can explore this holy town and visit various pilgrim sites that are quite beautiful. You can also taste local cuisines and will stay at a hotel for the night.

Day 3- Rishikesh – Uttarkashi | Distance: 172Kms | Duration: 5 – 6 hours | Elevation: 1158M
This day will begin early with a fulfilling breakfast. You will drive from Rishikesh to Uttarkashi today. The changing landscapes will keep you entertained on your 175 km drive. There are many temples and you can visit them all once you reach Uttarkashi. You have your meals with the backdrop of nature and stay overnight at a hotel booked in advance for you by Khalur Adventures.

Day 4- Uttarkashi – Gangotri | Distance: 102 kms | Duration: 3-4 hours | Elevation: 3415M
Post breakfast you can head to the Forest department in Uttarkashi and learn about the ways in which the biodiversity of Uttarakhand is preserved here. Kahlur Adventures’ trek leader will guide you through the formalities that need to be done before you begin the drive to Gangotri. You will pass through beautiful mountain peaks and upon reaching there you will be taken to a guest house for an overnight stay.

Day 5- Gangotri – Bhojbasa | Trek Distance: 14 kms | Duration: 4-5 hours | Elevation: 4025M
You will have your breakfast at the hotel before checking out and begin the trek towards Chirbasa. You will hike along the beaten track to Chirbasa accompanied by the Bhagirathi River on the entire path. Today you will cover a total distance of 14 km. There will be a small halt for lunch, packed for you by Kahlur Adventures. After that, you will head towards Bhojwasa. You will pass through desolate terrain which is known as Arctic Tundra. You will come across thick forests on your way and a small temple. There is a campsite near the river. You will have your evening tea/coffee with an amazing sunset on the Bhagirath peaks and spend the night in the tent.

Day 6- Bhojbasa – Gaumukh – Tapovan | Trek Distance: 08 kms | Duration: 3-4 hours | Elevation: 4460M
This day will begin with breakfast in the lap of the mountains of India and all-embracing views of the Bhagirathi group of peaks. After that, you will begin heading towards Gomukh, the origin place of the holy river Ganges. You will take some rest at Gomukh before beginning the trek to today’s destination Tapovan. The trek from here on is quite steep and provides a clear view of the surrounding mountain peaks. When you reach Tapovan, you will be mesmerized by its beautiful meadows, streams, and wildflowers which makes it the perfect location for a campsite. The exquisite flora and fauna of Tapovan have always attracted trekkers to this beautiful place. Tapovan is also the base camp for the Mount Shivling Expedition. Here you will pitch the tents with the help of Kahlur Adventures and have your dinner under the stars before retiring to your tent.

Day 7- Tapovan to Nandanvan | Trek Distance: 08 kms | Duration: 4-5 hours | Elevation: 4350M
Today you will start early and make an ascent towards the Meru Glacier. There will be a small break to explore the Meru Glacier and after some time you will start again for Nandanvan. You will be crossing a meadow till down and then the Gomukh Glacier. You will walk on to the Gangotri Glacier on the way to Nandanvan. The glacier lies between two mountain ranges and you will walk on a layer of rocky moraine on the ice. Walking on the slippery glacier can be tricky and you will need to follow the advice of Khalur Adventures’ trek leader. You will make a vertical ascent and walk past some big rocks to reach the campsite. Have your dinner and stay for the night.

Day 8- Nandanvan to Vasuki Tal | Trek Distance: 06 kms | Duration: 4-5 hours | Elevation: 4879M
This day will begin will the trek beside the Chaturangi Glacier on your way to Vasuki Tal. The base camp at Vasuki Tal is also the base camp for Mount Satopanth and Moutn Vasuki Parbat and there is also a small lake. The trek between Nandanvana to Vasuki Tal is about 6 km. All these factors make Vasuki’s base picturesque.

Day 10- Vasuki Tal to Khara Patthar | Trek Distance: 06 km | Duration: 4-5 hours | Elevation: 5199M
Post breakfast you will begin trekking to Khara Patthar which will take about 6 hours to complete. The captivating views of Mount Satopanth will keep you company. After reaching the campsite at Khara Patthar you will retire in your tent after dinner.

Day 11- Khara Patthar to Sweta Glacier | Trek Distance: 08 km | Duration: 6-7 hours | Elevation: 5449M
Today you will cover a distance of 8 km and the trek is relatively short. The campsite is in a moraine packed with rocks and boulders. The campsite isn’t ideal but necessary for acclimatization.

Day 12- Sweta Glacier to Kalindi Base Camp | Trek Distance: 06 km | Duration: 5-6 hours | Elevation: 5659M
This day will start early with a walk and you will be trekking over the moraine. On your way, you will come across Chatrungi Glacier. There are 4 color’s (yellow, pink, green and brown) visible from this place and hence the name Chatrungi. The campsite is Kalindi Bhamak, which is near the snout of the Kalindi Glacier.

Day 13- Kalindi Base Camp to Kalindi Khal | Elevation: 5942 M to Rajaparav | Elevation: 4900M
Today is the most important day as you will reach the Kalindi Khal/ Pass and for that, the day will start early. You need to keep a steady pace as the climb ahead is strenuous. As you reach the top, all the hardships you endured will pay off through the panoramic views of Mount Kamet, Mount Mana, Chandra Parbat, Vasuki Parbat and the awe-inspiring views of the nearby mountain ranges. If the day is clear you will get a view of the Tibetan Plateau. After spending some time at the Kalindi Khal, you will descend to Rajaparav and spend the night here.

On this day, you will take a long walk of about 13 km above glacial terrain to reach Arwa Tal and stay here overnight. Your meals will be provided by Khalur Adventures.

Day 16- Arwa Tal to Ghastoli | Elevation: 3800M to Badrinath | Elevation: 3300M
The day will begin with a long walk through moraines to reach Ghastoli. The landscape here will change from barren grey to green as you are near Ghastoli. After that, you will drive down the Mana Pass road to Badrinath in the vehicles of Kahlur Adventures. You will be checked into accommodation for some well-deserved rest for the night.

Day 17- Badrinath to Rishikes | Distance: 289 kms | Duration: 7 – 8 hours
You will have your breakfast and board a vehicle for Dehradun. The drive to Dehradun is 289 km long and will take you along Alakndand till Devprayag. Upon reaching Rishikesh for overnight stay.

Please note that the Kalindi Kahal trek is one of the most challenging treks in India. A minimum of 7 guests, more then fifty+ team will trek through the expedition and the weather in the area is highly unpredictable, so it is kindly requested that all trekkers come prepared with a light backpack.

Payment & Cancellation Policy:
When you have firmly decided to undertake the Tour with Kahlur Adventures, you will need to book the trip with us. We must allocate enough time to prepare, obtain necessary documents and permits, and book hotels and Transport for the trip.
25% advance during the time of booking for confirmation
50% Amount one month prior of arrival in India
25% Amount to be one week prior of arrival in India
• If the cancellation is made 30 days before the tour starts, 25% of the full payment will be deducted and 75% will be refunded.
• If the cancellation is made 20 days before the tour start, 35% of the full payment will be deducted and 70% will be refunded
• If the cancellation is made 07 days before the tour start, 80% will be deducted and 20% will be refunded.
• No refund is made if the trip is cancelled after the departure for Expedition.
• No refund is made during the running tour.
