The mountains of Garhwal are home to some majestic mountain peaks and the most impressive one is Mount Black Peak. Also known as the Kalanag, Mt Black Peak is the highest in the Saraswati Range of Mountains in the Ruinsara Valley. Black Peak Expeditions takes you to an elevation of 6,387 M and it takes 20 days for the entire expedition. The uncanny resemblance of this mountain peak with the head of the Black Cobra makes this mountain peak a unique miracle of nature. Mount Black epitomizes the beauty and ruggedness of the Mountains of Uttarakhand. The black peak expedition is a technical climb with a section of 75 feet vertical ice wall with a 70-degree gradient. On the way to Mount Black Peak India, you will come across snowfields, glaciers, rocky moraines and various changing landscapes. Since the Kalanag Expedition is a technical climb, you require prior mountaineer experience to partake in this journey and a significant knowledge of mountaineering equipment and skills.
Government Employees Special Casual Leave (SCL) for Trekking and Mountaineering
As a Government Employee, you can avail the benefit of Special Casual Leave when you join Kahlur Adventures on a trekking expedition of your choice. As per the rules of the Pay Commission, Special Casual Leave (SCL) can be availed for up to 30 days in a calendar year for mountaineering or trekking expeditions through a registered organization. As a registered travel and adventure company in the Indian Mountaineering Foundation (IMF) and the Ministry of Tourism, Kahlur Adventures is at your service with a team of highly efficient tour operators. Trekkers need to apply for leave at least 20 days prior to the departure date of the trek.

Kahlur Adventures makes all the bookings in advance so that you can enjoy your time in the great outdoors. We have carefully curated the route map of the Kalanag/Black peak Expedition keeping in mind the safety and enjoyability of climbers, all the necessary permits book by team Kahlur in advance.
On the first day of Mount Bhagirathi II Expedition, you will arrive in Delhi. Kahlur Adventures’ representative will welcome you at the airport and drive you to a pre-booked hotel for check-in. All the meals will be served here. Overnight stay in Delhi.
Overnight in The Hotel at Delhi
In the morning, you will have breakfast at the hotel before checking out and then visit the Indian Mountaineering Foundation for a briefing on the Black Peak Expedition. Later you will drive to Dehradun with Kahlur Adventures’ representative. The drive from Delhi to Dehradun is about 276 km long and takes 6-7 hours. Once you reach Dehradun, you will be placed in a pre-booked hotel for an overnight stay.
Overnight at Dehradun
Meal: Breakfast + Lunch + Dinner
Today after breakfast you will drive to Sankri Village. You will have your lunch en route and check in at a hotel booked by Kahlur Adventures in Sankri. You will have your dinner in the hotel and stay overnight.
Overnight at Uttarkashi (Hotel/Guest House)
Meal: Breakfast + Lunch + Dinner
On this day, you will have your breakfast and drive to Taluka Village. Once you reach Taluka Village, you will trek to Osla for an overnight stay.
Overnight at Gangotri (Guest House)
Meal: Breakfast + Lunch + Dinner
You will wake up in the lap of the Mountains of India and have a hot breakfast served by Khalur Adventures. After that, you will begin the trek to Ruinsara Tal on a 12 km long stretch that will take about 7 hours. You will have dinner at the campsite and stay overnight.
Overnight In Tents
Meal: Breakfast + Lunch + Dinner
On this day of the Kalanag Expedition, you will have your breakfast under the open sky and head to Kyarkoti Base Camp. you will be gaining a significant elevation on this day and reach Kyarkoti after trekking for about 8 km which is at an elevation of 4,100 M. Upon arrival, you will pitch your tent with the help of Kahlur Adventures and have your meal before retiring to your tent for the night.

These 08 days are the most important days on the Black Peak Expedition. You will be guided by Kahlur Adventures’ expedition leaders, Sherpa on each step to acclimatize and practice with the technical equipment. We will make 03 camps after base camp: Advanced Base Camp at 4,600M, Camp 1 at 5,100M and Summit Camp arround 5,480M), Once you reach the top of Mount Black Peak/Kalanag, you will be mesmerized by the magnificent peaks of the Garhwal ranges such as Swargaohini, Bandar Punch, Bhagirathi Massif and Gangotri ranges of mountains. The rays of the morning sun dancing on the mountain peaks will surely make your heart flutter with joy. After spending some time there you will start descending to reach the campsite for some well-deserved rest.

We already have an extra buffer day in our summit plan, but for last-minute emergencies, we will keep one additional day. If we do not use this day, we will utilize it for a one-day tour to Rishikesh, the yoga capital of India, without any extra charges

Today you will trace back your path from Kyarkoti to Ruinsara Tal accompanied by the team of Khalur Adventures. You will stay overnight at the campsite at Ruinsara Tal.
Overnight in Tents
Meal: Breakfast + Lunch + Dinner
You will begin your day with a hot breakfast and after that trek to Taluka Village. From there on, you will board a vehicle by Kahlur Adventures for the drive to Sankri. Upon reaching Sankri, you will check in at a hotel to stay for the night.
Overnight in Hotel/Guest House
Meal: Breakfast + Lunch + Dinner
In the morning, you will wake up with the views of the mountains and have breakfast before checking out. You will drive to Dehradun and stay overnight in a hotel.
Overnight in Hotel at Dehradun
Meal: Breakfast + Lunch + Dinner
After breakfast, you will drive back to Delhi and visit the Indian Mountaineering Foundation once more for a debriefing. You will check in at a hotel booked in advance by Kahlur Adventures. You can explore the city before dinner and retire to your room for the night.
Overnight at Delhi (Hotel)

On the last day of the Mount Black Peak Expedition, you will have your breakfast before checking out. Our representative will drive you to the airport or railway station as per your and you will say your goodbyes to Kahlur Adventures. And we hope to meet you soon in your next escapade.

When you have firmly decided to undertake the Tour with Kahlur Adventures, you will need to book the trip with us. We must allocate enough time to prepare, obtain necessary documents and permits, and book hotels and Transport for the trip.

• If the cancellation is made 30 days before the tour starts, 25% of the full payment will be deducted and 75% will be refunded.
• If the cancellation is made 20 days before the tour start, 35% of the full payment will be deducted and 65% will be refunded
• If the cancellation is made 07 days before the tour start, 80% will be deducted and 20% will be refunded.
• No refund is made if the trip is cancelled after the departure for Expedition.
• No refund is made during the running tour.
• The cost of travel permit or any other documentation charges will not be refundable
