Meaning of Kahlur
“Kahlur” is the old name of district Bilaspur in Himachal Pradesh India. Kahlur was one of the Princely states of India during the period of the British Raj. This town lies on the edge of Govind Sagar, an artificial lake northwest of Shimla, the state capital. Raja Bir Chand the founder ruler of this area got it constructed. The Ruling Chandel Dynasty of Kahlur was also Known as Kahluria. After the Govt shifted to Kahlur, the state was renamed and got its new name Bilaspur. The founder of Kahlur Adventures, Mr. Pankaj Chandel, comes from the same dynasty. So, Pankaj decided to dedicate the company name to his roots.
About Pankaj Chandel
Pankaj Chandel comes from a background in Tourism. He has done a 05-year study course in Tourism (Bachelor’s and Master’s degree) and also has more than 06 years of experience in the Travel/Hospitality sector. Pankaj Chandel is also a certified Mountain Climber, Skier, and a Guide by the Govt. Institute of Mountaineering in India.
Pankaj Said ‘during the lockdown tourism sector was affected the worst, most of the people lost their jobs and it was hard to survive, as a traveler and mountaineer it’s always hard to sit at home and read-only travel articles and watch TV.
In 2021, apart from COVD-19, one more wave came to India, which is the “Start India wave”. Yes, it’s a harsh reality, during the lockdown so many businesses have been shut down. But we can’t deny the Govt initiated Make India Independent (Atma Nirbhar Bharat), and a reality show (Shark Tank India) that gave new hope to youngsters to do something for the country.
From here, came the idea of “Kahlur Adventures”. Kahlur Adventures is a small start-up with a huge vision and plan. Pankaj believes that to start a business more than finance, you need planning and proper execution of the required actions.
In the words of the founder of Kahlur Adventures, ‘The motive of Kahlur Adventures is not only to get a profit and earn money. After experiencing 9 years in the travel & tourism sector, one thing I learned is that people pay a travel company to make their dreams a reality and provide them with a pleasant escape from their regular life.’ Pankaj believes that making someone happy and giving the value of their time as well as money is not only a job it’s a responsibility.
