Government Employees Special Casual Leave (SCL) for Trekking and Mountaineering
As a Government Employee, you can avail the benefit of Special Casual Leave when you join Kahlur Adventures on a trekking expedition of your choice. As per the rules of the Pay Commission, Special Casual Leave (SCL) can be availed for upto 30 days in a calendar year for mountaineering or trekking expeditions through a registered organization. As a registered travel and adventure company in the Indian Mountaineering Foundation (IMF) and the Ministry of Tourism, Kahlur Adventures is at your service with a team of highly efficient tour operators. Trekkers need to apply for leave at least 20 days prior to the departure date of the trek.

Day 1– Reach Manali | Elevation: 2050 M
Day 2– Drive from Manali to Dhundi | Elevation: 3150 M and Trek to Bakarthach | Elevation: 3300 M
Day 3– Bakarthach to Advance base camp | Elevation: 3840 M
Day 4– Load Ferry to Summit Camp | Elevation: 4000 – 4200 M
Day 5– Trek towards Summit Camp | elevation: 4000 – 4200 M
Day 6– Summit Day | Elevation: 5289 M
Day 7- Reserved Day

Day 01 – Arrive Manali | Elevation: 2050 M
The starting point of this trek is Manali, and on this day we gather up the entire traveling party in this mountainous town and take you to the accommodations pre-booked by Kahlur Adventures. Since Manali is a sought-after tourist destination, it is easily accessible and you can reach here through various modes of transportation depending on your choice. You need to adjust your body for the high altitudes and need rest for the day. The trek leader will give you a brief on the entire plan and after that, you are free to explore the local market and food of Manali. Meanwhile, the tour leader will sort all your permits and other paper works for a hassle-free trek.

Day 02 – Drive from Manali to Dhundi | Elevation: 3150 M and Trek to Bakkarthatch | Elevation: 3300 M
You will wake up with the cold mountain wind and have your breakfast with a million-dollar view. Today is the day when the trek actually begins. But first, you will be driven to Dhundi in a 21 km drive through Solang Nalla. On the way to Dhundi, there will be changing scenery outside of your window and you will drive through many small towns, views of the valley, native people and local shops. If the sky is clear, you may also get a glimpse of paragliders flying in the bright blue sky. After reaching Dhundi, you will become your trek which is about 4.5 km long. After ascending for an hour or so, you will get a sight of the seven sisters’ mountains. There will be many rocky terrains and thick forests, and you will get to breathe in the fresh air of the mountains. After reaching the campsite, you will walk through the nearby flowery patches to get your body acclimatized. Kahlur Adventures organizes cosy little tents for you to stay overnight and you will be provided with a delicious meal under the star-studded sky.

Day 03 – Bakarthach to Advance base camp | Elevation: 3840 M
This day will begin early with a scrumptious breakfast to energize you for an adventurous day. Before beginning today’s trek, we will pack up all the belongings from the campsite. The trek today is quite challenging and you will climb up the steep pathway. The outstanding spectacle will keep you motivated on the trek on this 3-hour-long stretch. You will reach today’s destination by noon and interestingly the campsite is shaped in the form of a leg and is known as Lady Leg. From this campsite, you will get a closer perspective of Mount Friendship Peak. You will stay at this campsite for 2-3 and practice all the mountaineering equipment that you have brought along under the professional supervision of Kahlur Adventures’ tour leader and hone your skills. The Friendship peak trek isn’t an easy feat and requires one to be trained properly before moving ahead.

Day 04 – Load Ferry to Summit Camp | Elevation: 4000 – 4200 M
Relish in the breakfast and get your snow boots on as the day ahead is strenuous but crucial. Today you will walk upon the steep slopes and slippery terrains for 2 to 3 hours on snow-covered paths. Trekkers would carry the equipment provided by Kahlur Adventures with them on the ascend to Summit camp. Once we reach today’s destination, we will set up the tent and put all the equipment there. You will find Hanuman Tibba, Priyadarshini, Indrasan, and Deo Tibba in your field of vision. After indulging in a small training session, you will descend to Lady Leg for the night.

Day 05 – Trek towards Summit Camp | elevation: 4000 – 4200 M
Today’s trek is on the same trail as the day before towards the Summit camp. You will begin after a hot lunch provided by Kahlur Adventures and cover the stretch of 3 km in about 2.4 hours. After reaching the Summit camp, you will rest for the remaining time.

Day 06 – Summit Day | Elevation: 5289 M
Summit day is the most grinding day of the trek but today you will achieve your goal of reaching Mt Friendship Peak. Contrary to the 5th day of the trek, today you will begin as early as 1 to 2 am. It going to be a really long day as the distance to be covered on the trek is 14 to 16 km and it will take approximately 14 hours. To beat the hunger pangs on the way, Kahlur Adventures will make sure that there is enough food supply for everyone in today’s demanding circumstances. Waking up super early will help you get fully prepared for the trek and the ascend will start at the scheduled time too. After climbing up to the col between 5 to 6 am, you will watch the most splendid sunrise lighting up the Pir Panjal range and Manali. Kahlur Adventures’ experienced tour guides and leaders are well versed with the narrow ridges leading up to the summit and after a long ascent of about 3 hours, you will reach the target of this excursion. After catching a breath and admiring the views from the top, you will begin your descent with the entire team of trekkers. On reaching the Summit camp, we will pack up all the stuff and begin our downhill journey to Lady Leg. Here you will have your dinner and spend your last night on the Advance base camp.

Day 07 – Reserved Day
This day of the Friendship peak expedition is a precautionary day, in case of any unforeseeable weather conditions.

Day 08 – Back at the beginning
On the last day of the trek, you will walk down the familiar paths from Lady Leg to Bakkarthach to Dhundhi and finally to Manali. Kahlur Adventures plans this day in a way that you begin early and reach Manali by twilight. It is the day to celebrate your unmatched achievement. You will rest for the night at a pleasant accommodation booked in advance by Kahlur Adventures.

On your last day in Manali, you will have your breakfast at the hotel before checking out. Later our local representative will see you at the local bus stand so you can board your bus. When you have firmly decided to undertake the Tour with Kahlur Adventures, you will need to book the trip with us. We must allocate enough time to prepare, obtain necessary documents and permits, and book hotels and Transport for the trip.

25% Amount to be one week prior of arrival in India
• If the cancellation is made 30 days before the tour starts, 25% of the full payment will be deducted and 75% will be refunded.
• If the cancellation is made 20 days before the tour start, 35% of the full payment will be deducted and 70% will be refunded
• If the cancellation is made 07 days before the tour start, 80% will be deducted and 20% will be refunded.
• No refund is made if the trip is cancelled after the departure for Expedition.
• No refund is made during the running tour.
• The cost of travel permit or any other documentation charges will not be refundable
