On the Mount Bhagirathi II expedition, you will climb one of the world’s highest and most rigorous yet gratifying peaks. Bhagirathi II is considered a holy mountain by Hindu pilgrims and has many temples and shrines on the top. Bhagirathi Peak’s climb is only suitable for experienced mountaineers as well as new mountaineers as it is a somewhat less technical peak. But to climb Mt Bhagirathi, you need proper knowledge of mountaineering equipment and reasonable experience in high-altitude climbing. Government Employees Special Casual Leave (SCL) for Trekking and Mountaineering
As a Government Employee, you can avail the benefit of Special Casual Leave when you join Kahlur Adventures on a trekking expedition of your choice. As per the rules of the Pay Commission, Special Casual Leave (SCL) can be availed for up to 30 days in a calendar year for mountaineering or trekking expeditions through a registered organization. As a registered travel and adventure company in the Indian Mountaineering Foundation (IMF) and the Ministry of Tourism, Kahlur Adventures is at your service with a team of highly efficient tour operators. Trekkers need to apply for leave at least 20 days prior to the departure date of the trek.

Day 01- Arrive Delhi | Elevation: 300M
On the first day of Mount Bhagirathi II Expedition, you will arrive in Delhi. Kahlur Adventures’ representative will welcome you at the airport and drive you to a pre-booked hotel for check-in. All the meals will be served here. Overnight stay in Delhi.

Day 02- Delhi – Rishikesh | Distance: 270 kms | Duration: 6 – 7 hours | Elevation: 340M
After breakfast, you will check out from the hotel and visit the (IMF) Indian Mountaineering Foundation for a briefing about the expedition. After that, start on the drive to Rishikesh. It is a 6 to 7 hours drive for about 270 km from Delhi. The route is scenic and once in Rishikesh, you will placed in a hotel for the night.

Day 03- Rishikesh – Uttarkashi| Distance: 172Kms | Duration: 5 – 6 hours | Elevation: 1158M
Today, you will have breakfast at the hotel and check out. You will be driven to Uttarkashi, which is approx. 172 Km away from Rishikesh. After a 6 to 7-hour drive, you will reach today’s destination. Check into a hotel booked in advance by Kahlur Adventures for all the meals and an overnight stay.

Day 04- Uttarkashi – Gangotri | Distance: 102 kms | Duration: 3-4 hours | Elevation: 3415M
You will visit the local administration office after breakfast and check out for some formalities regarding the Expedition with Kahlur Adventures’ representative. After that, you will start on the drive to Gangotri, the pilgrim town of Hindus. The aura of this town is very peaceful and it fills you with a positive energy. The drive from Uttarkashi to Gangotri will take about 4 hours and you will cover a distance of 95 km. Upon reaching Gangotri, you will check into a hotel for an overnight stay. In the evening, you can visit the Gangotri temple and explore this mountain town at your leisure.

Day 05- Gangotri – Bhojbasa | Trek Distance: 14 kms | Duration: 4-5 hours | Elevation: 4025M
This day is very exciting as you will trek for the first time on Mount Bhagirathi II Expedition. You will trek for 14 km from Gangotri to Bhojbasa via Chirbasa. The mighty river Bhagirathi will be your companion today. Upon reaching Bhojbasa, you will pitch tents with the help of Kahlur Adventures. Meals under the open sky and retire to your tent for a good night’s sleep.

Day 06- Bhojbasa – Gaumukh – Nandanvan | Trek Distance: 08 kms | Duration: 5-6 hours | Elevation: 4340M
On this day, you will start ascending towards Gaumukh, the source of the holy River Ganga. Mount Shivling (6,543 M) and Mount Bhagirathi (6,856 M) will be right in front of you in all their glory as you keep ascending. You will continue towards Nadanvan until you cross Gangotri glacier, traverse upon the slippery glacier moraines and finally arrive at the mesmerising Alpine meadows of Nandanvan, a sight to behold. Nandanvan is at the intersection of Chatrungi Glacier and Gangotri Glacier. Nadanvan is also the Base for Bhagirathi II’s sister peaks, Bhagirathi I and Bhagirathi III. From your campsite, you will get an uninterrupted vantage point to Kedarnath (6,940 M), Mount Kedar Dome (6,831 M), Mount Meru (6,673 M) and Mount Karcha Kund ( 6,617 M). You will be surrounded by the stunning backdrops of mountains and stay in the tent at the campsite.

Day 07 to Day 18 – Base Camp – Summit Bhagirathi (2) and back to Basecamp
The next 12 days are dedicated to conquering the summit of the Bhagirathi 02 peak. The days ahead are quite invigorating and testing as you have to acclimatize according to the elevation and make the ascend as per the weather conditions. To establish higher camps, you need to keep your spirits high and follow the instructions of Kahlur Adventures’ trek leader on the push to Summit Mt Bhagirathi II. There are several higher camps before reaching Summit Camp. You will also get to practice with the climbing equipment before the D-day. On the day of the Summit, you will start climbing around 3 am and walk over steep snowy slopes with open and hidden crevasses. From the top of Bhagirathi II (6,512 M), you will see the sister peaks Bhagirathi I and Bhagirathi III shining bright with their snow-covered peaks. As the rising sun spreads its light over the mountain peaks nearby, Mount Shivling, Mount Meru, and the stupendous views of the Gangotri region can be seen from the summit. Later, you will trace back your path to the campsite for the night.

Day 19- Base Camp to Bhojbasa
Today you wake up in the laps of the Himalayas and have a quick breakfast at the Base Camp. Wrap up everything and start trekking to Bhojbasa. You will hike on the familiar path for 10 km to reach Bhojbasa. Overnight stay at the campsite.

Day 20- Bhojbasa – Gangotri – Uttarkashi
In the morning, have breakfast and start the trek to Gangotri. Upon reaching Gangotri, you will be driven to Uttarkashi by Kahlur Adventures. You will placed in a pre-booked hotel in Uttarkashi for an overnight stay.

Day 21- Uttarkashi – Rishikesh
Post breakfast, you will check out from the hotel and start on the drive to Rishikesh. Upon arrival, you will check into a hotel for an overnight stay. You can explore the tourist sites in Rishikesh in the evening and enjoy some authentic food.

Day 22 – Rishikesh to Delhi
Check out from the hotel after breakfast and drive back to Delhi. Once in Delhi, you will be checked into a hotel for the night.

Day 23 – Departure from Delhi

When you have firmly decided to undertake the Tour with Kahlur Adventures, you will need to book the trip with us. We must allocate enough time to prepare, obtain necessary documents and permits, and book hotels and Transport for the trip.
25% advance during the time of booking for confirmation
50% Amount one month prior of arrival in India
25% Amount to be one week prior of arrival in India
• If the cancellation is made 30 days before the tour starts, 25% of the full payment will be deducted and 75% will be refunded.
• If the cancellation is made 20 days before the tour start, 35% of the full payment will be deducted and 65% will be refunded
• If the cancellation is made 07 days before the tour start, 80% will be deducted and 20% will be refunded.
• No refund is made if the trip is cancelled after the departure for Expedition.
• No refund is made during the running tour.
• The cost of travel permit or any other documentation charges will not be refundable
