Mount Damavand is the highest peak in Iran and the highest volcano in Asia, with an elevation of 5,610 meters (18,406 feet) above sea level. It is situated in the Alborz mountain range in the north of Iran, about 70 kilometers northeast of the capital city, Tehran. Mount Damavand holds significant cultural and symbolic value in Iranian mythology, literature, and culture.
The mountain is a stratovolcano, formed from alternating layers of solidified lava flows and volcanic ash. Though classified as potentially active, it hasn’t erupted in recorded history. Mount Damavand is crowned by a massive crater, and its slopes are often covered in snow, particularly in the colder months. Its majestic peak is visible from afar, dominating the landscape.
Climbing Mount Damavand is a challenging yet rewarding endeavor. The ascent typically takes two to three days, depending on the chosen route and the climber’s experience level. Popular routes include the southern, northeastern, and western slopes, each offering unique landscapes and challenges. Day 01 – Arrive Tehran IKA International Airport (IKA) and transfer to hotel | Elevation: 1040 M
Upon arrival at Tehran IKA International Airport, you will be warmly greeted by our airport representative who will assist you with your transfer to the hotel. Your accommodation has been pre-booked by the Kahlur team for your convenience. Later in the evening, our ground team will visit your hotel to ensure that your clothing and trekking equipment are suitable for the upcoming adventure. Additionally, they will provide you with a detailed briefing about the Mount Damavand peak climbing program, ensuring you are well-prepared and informed for the journey ahead.

Day 02 – Hotel to Nandel village | 5Hrs drive 156 KM | Elevation: 2300 M
After enjoying breakfast, we embark on our journey from Haraz Road to Nandel village, located in the northeast of Damavand. The drive spans approximately 156 kilometers on the road and typically takes 4 to 5 hours. Along the route, we pause for a delightful lunch break. Upon arrival we goest to Iran Mountaineering office to get the copy of our permit to climb Damavand. Evening we settle in for the night at a charming village house, offering a serene retreat amidst the picturesque surroundings.
Please note that you have the option to securely store any extra clothing and electronic items in the hotel’s locker room for your convenience.

Day 03 – Nandel Village to Advance Basecamp | 6-7Hrs Trek | Elevation: 4100 M
Early morning after breakfast to start driving to the starting point of the trek, Since it’s a hilly road we go by the Nissan mini offroad truck, all our luggage will be transported by mules till the Basecamp. from road head to basecamp it will takes 5-6 hrs. depending on your walking speed, do carry the extra water bottle with you. Upon arrival at the camp sight our ground team served the welcome drinks with some light snacks for your, after lunch go can walk around the camp sight, meetup with fellow trekkers around the world. You will have your dinner under the glimmering skylight and get a small briefing of the next day

Day 04 – Acclimatization Day
Today is the Acclimatization Day, Morning after breakfast we will go with our guides for a hike towards the summit route, A better Acclimatization increase the chances of smooth summit, Evening get back to your camps and enjoy the early dinner.

Day 05 – Summit Day | 11-12 Hrs Trek | Elevation: 5610 M
Early morning after drinking soup and hot water be ready for the next adventure, today is the final day to summit the highest mountains of Iran, so we start it very slowly and safely, it will take only 6,7 hrs to reach the summit point, As you will keep moving forward towards your ultimate destination of this expedition, you will see the summit sign of Mount Damavand. As you take in the panoramic views from the highest point of Iran, you will feel that all your struggles to cope with the challenging climate and long exhausting trek have been worth it. After resting for a while on the summit, and clicking photos/videos you will start descending towards camp sight.

Day 06 – Back to Nandel and Drive to Tehran
After breakfast, trek back to the starting point of the trail, with backpacks transported by mules for added convenience. Transfer to Nandal village via pickup (Nissan mini truck). Enjoy a delicious lunch at a local restaurant before driving back to Tehran

Day 07 Tehran full day City Tour
Morning after breakfast be ready for full day tour of Tehran city. Visit the National Museum, Golestan Palace and The Grand Bazaar.

Day 08 – Departure from Tehran
On the last day of this tour, you will check out from the hotel after having your breakfast. Depending on your booking of the flight’s time and location, our representative will drop you at Tehran IKA International Airport (IKA). You will say goodbye to Kahlur Adventures’ team and fly home with beautiful memories of this trek and will soon meet us for another adventure.

When you have firmly decided to undertake the Tour with Kahlur Adventures, you will need to book the trip with us. We must allocate enough time to prepare, obtain necessary documents and permits, and book hotels and Transport for the trip.
25% advance during the time of booking for confirmation
50% Amount one month prior of arrival in India
25% Amount to be one week prior of arrival in India
• If the cancellation is made 30 days before the tour starts, 25% of the full payment will be deducted and 75% will be refunded.
• If the cancellation is made 20 days before the tour start, 35% of the full payment will be deducted and 70% will be refunded
• If the cancellation is made 07 days before the tour start, 80% will be deducted and 20% will be refunded.
• No refund is made if the trip is cancelled after the departure for Expedition.
• No refund is made during the running tour.
• The cost of travel permit or any other documentation charges will not be refundable
