Mount Kamet 7756 M Expedition India:

At an imposing elevation of 7,756 M, Mount Kamet is the second-highest peak, after Nanda Devi, in the Garhwal region of Uttarakhand, India. This magnificent mountain peak lies in the Chamoli district, near the Tibetian border. Mt Kamet has a unique appearance resembling a huge pyramid with a flat summit area on the top with 2 peaks. Among the mountains of Uttarakhand, Kamet is quite isolated from the other peaks making it remote and tough to access. Meaning of Kamet is burning mountains its also called  Kang Med Tibetan. The sun’s rays fall on these glorious peaks making it look like they are on fire with an orangish glow.

Kamet is among the 7,000 M mountains of India and requires technical skills to summit. Under the expert guidance of the Indian Mountaineering company, Kahlur Adventures, you can fulfil your dream of scaling Mount Kamet. We have a team of seasoned mountaineers and trek leaders who know the mountains of India like the back of their hands. The Valley of Flowers was discovered while descending on the first successful summit of Mount Kamet in 1931 by a British expedition team of Frank Smythe, Eric Shipton, R.L. Holdsworth and Lew Sherpa.

On this trail, you will traverse quaint mountain villages and scenic canyons. The splendid landscapes and a hefty sum of adrenaline have made the Kamet Expedition a favourite trek of all adventurous mountaineers. Kamet Peak is surrounded by the glaciers Paschim Kamet in the west, Purbi Kamet in the east and the Raikana glacier system. Expedition to Mt Kamet is an Alpine-style climbing in India. The best time for the Kamet expedition is between April to October.
