Government Employees Special Casual Leave (SCL) for Trekking and Mountaineering
As a Government Employee, you can avail the benefit of Special Casual Leave when you join Kahlur Adventures on a trekking expedition of your choice. As per the rules of the Pay Commission, Special Casual Leave (SCL) can be availed for upto 30 days in a calendar year for mountaineering or trekking expeditions through a registered organization. As a registered travel and adventure company in the Indian Mountaineering Foundation (IMF) and the Ministry of Tourism, Kahlur Adventures is at your service with a team of highly efficient tour operators. Trekkers need to apply for leave at least 20 days prior to the departure date of the trek.

On the first day of the Mount Papsura Expedition, Kahlur Adventures welcomes you to Incredible India. Our representative will meet you at the airport and take you to the hotel pre-booked for your overnight stay in Delhi.
Overnight in The Hotel at Delhi
Day 2- Delhi – Bilaspur| Distance: 410 kms | Duration: 7 – 8 hours | Elevation: 680 M
Before checking out in the morning, you will have your breakfast at the hotel. Later, you will head to Indian Mountaineering Foundation (IMF) for a briefing and some paperwork. Kahlur Adventures’ representative will accompany you. After that, you will start for Bilaspur via Chandigarh. The drive to Chandigarh will take about 8 hours. The head of the Kahlur Adventures is also in Bilaspur Himachal Pradesh, evenig we met with the Kahlur team and dinner together.

Day 3- Bilaspur – Kasol | Distance: 157Kms | Duration: 4 – 5 hours | Elevation: 1580 M
You will have your breakfast at the hotel and then check out. You will start on the drive to Kasol, Parvati Valley of Kullu district Himachal Pradesh. There will be a small halt at Mandi for lunch. Throughout today’s drive, you will see the beautiful landscapes of Himachal Pradesh unfolding before your eyes. Upon reaching Kasol after a 157 km drive, you will check into a hotel for the night.

Day 4 – Acclimatization in Kasol
This day is reserved for acclimatization and meeting Kahlur Adventures’ expedition team which consists of local guides, kitchen staff, sherpa, etc. This day is also for the preparations for the expedition. You will have a detailed briefing of the next day’s plan and after that, you can explore Kasol. Kasol is a popular hill station in the Parvati Valley. You can indulge in the local culture and food at your own pace and enjoy the day in the mountains of India. After dinner, you will retire to your room for the night

Day 5 – Kasol to Tosh to Kutla | Elevation: 2825 M
The day will begin with an early morning breakfast. You will check out from the hotel and drive to Tosh. After reaching Tosh, you will trek for about 3 hours to reach Kutla. On the way to the campsite, you will come across pine trees and waterfalls. The campsite is surrounded by Cedar and Maple trees and you will stay overnight in the tents here.

Day 6 – Kutla to Saran Thatch | Elevation: 3450 M
The day ahead is very exciting and you will wake to mesmerising views of sunrays filtering through the nearby trees. After breakfast, you will start the 12 hours trek to Saran Thatch. There will be a pit stop en route to have some rest and lunch. The entire trek is picturesque and will make you fall in love with the mountains of India all over again. Upon reaching Saran Thatch, you will set up the campsite with the help of Kahlur Adventures, have dinner and retire for the night.

Day 7 – Saran Thach | Elevation: 3,450 M to Samsi Thach | Elevation: 3,760 M
Post breakfast, you will start trekking towards Samsi Thach, your adobe for the night. On today’s trek, you will walk along the serene Tosh River and come across the mountain sheep and plants. Kahlur Adventures packs lunch for you to have en route while taking some rest on this long day. You will see the mountain peaks loaded with white snow all around you and stay overnight at the Samsi Thach campsite.

Day 8 – Samsi Thach | Elevation: 3,760 M to Kuta Thach/ Base Camp | Elevation: 4,230 M
This day is very exciting as you will ascend to the Base Camp today. Kuta Thach is the base camp of both the Papsura and Dharamsura mountain peaks. Papsura and Dharamsura peaks in Kullu, Himachal Pradesh, India are sister mountain peaks and you get to witness the glorious Dharamsura peak from the top. To reach the base camp, you will cross the Tosh Glacier.

Day 9 to Day 23 – Base Camp – Summit Papsura Peak 6451M-Basecamp (15 Day Climb)
The 15 days ahead are for ascending from Base Camp to Camp 1 , Camp 2 and 3. You will go for acclimatization walks as you keep gaining elevation. You will also get a training session from Kahlur Adventures’ trek leader on the proper usage of climbing equipment. On the day of the Summit, you will make your ascend towards not only the top of Mount Papsura but towards your dream of accomplishing this difficult yet rewarding task. From the top of Mt Papsura, you will get panoramic views of the nearby mountain peaks in their full glory. You can see the uninterrupted views of Kullu and Spiti Valley from here through the floating clouds. The captivating views of the rising Sun will make all the hardship you endured on the Mount Papsura Expedition worth it as you feel the icy cool breeze on your face. After spending some well-deserved time at the top, you will carefully start descending towards the Base Camp. A few days are reserved as a buffer if the weather conditions turn unfavorable or if something unforeseeable happens on the trek. You will trace back your path to the Base Camp, your abode for the night and the next day.

Day 24 – Base Camp to Tosh
After an early morning breakfast at the Base Camp, you will start the trek to the Tosh Valley. The distance you will travel today is very long and you need to be steady to reach the Tosh Village. In Tosh, you will be placed in a guesthouse/hotel booked for you in advance by Kahlur Adventures. You will stay here overnight.

Day 25 – Tosh to Delhi (Full Day Drive)
After breakfast in the morning, you will check out from the hotel and begin the drive to Delhi on the vehicle by Kahlur Adventures. IN route Bilaspur we stop for lunch at Chandigarh and then again start drive to Delhi. Evening we directly goes to the IMF office for debriefing of the expedition and then goes to hotel for overnight stay.

When you have firmly decided to undertake the Tour with Kahlur Adventures, you will need to book the trip with us. We must allocate enough time to prepare, obtain necessary documents and permits, and book hotels and Transport for the trip.
25% advance during the time of booking for confirmation
50% Amount one month prior of arrival in India
25% Amount to be one week prior of arrival in India
• If the cancellation is made 30 days before the tour starts, 25% of the full payment will be deducted and 75% will be refunded.
• If the cancellation is made 20 days before the tour start, 35% of the full payment will be deducted and 70% will be refunded
• If the cancellation is made 07 days before the tour start, 80% will be deducted and 20% will be refunded.
• No refund is made if the trip is cancelled after the departure for Expedition.
• No refund is made during the running tour.
