Government Employees Special Casual Leave (SCL) for Trekking and Mountaineering

As a Government Employee, you can avail the benefit of Special Casual Leave when you join Kahlur Adventures on a trekking expedition of your choice. As per the rules of the Pay Commission, Special Casual Leave (SCL) can be availed for upto 30 days in a calendar year for mountaineering or trekking expeditions through a registered organization. As a registered travel and adventure company in the Indian Mountaineering Foundation (IMF) and the Ministry of Tourism, Kahlur Adventures is at your service with a team of highly efficient tour operators. Trekkers need to apply for leave at least 20 days prior to the departure date of the trek.

DETAILS ITINERARY OF YUNAM PEAK MANALI :

We have curated the best route to climb Mount Yunam by Kahlur Adventures which will give you a fill of adrenaline and stunning views in equal measures. We take care of all the meals and bookings to keep your expedition hassle-free.

Day 01 – Arrive Manali | Elevation: 2050 M

The starting point of this trek is Manali, and on this day we gather up the entire traveling party in this mountainous town and take you to the accommodations pre-booked by Kahlur Adventures. Since Manali is a sought-after tourist destination, it is easily accessible and you can reach here through various modes of transportation depending on your choice. You need to adjust your body for the high altitudes and need rest for the day. The trek leader will give you a brief on the entire plan and after that, you are free to explore the local market and food of Manali. Meanwhile, the tour leader will sort all your permits and other paper works for a hassle-free trek.

Day 02 – Drive from Manali to Jispa | Elevation: 3200 M | Drive: 120 KM 06 Hrs

You will check out from the hotel after breakfast and begin the drive towards Jispa accompanied by the trek leader of Kahlur Adventures. You will be on the picturesque Leh- Manali highway on this drive and will pass through many mountain villages via Rohtang pass. Later your will cross through Tandi, the junction of Bhaga and Chandra Rivers and Sisa Village, famous for Raja Ghepan. The drive from Manali to Jispa is about 120 km and it takes about 6 hours drive. You will stay in Jispa for the night.

Day 03 – Jispa to Bharatpur | Elevation: 4500 M | Drive 05 Hrs

After a scrumptious breakfast, you will embark on the 5-hour drive to Bharatpur. Bharatpur will be the base for our Expedition to Mount Yunam Peak and you will be travelling via Deepak Tal, Suraj Tal and the popular Baralacha La Pass. On reaching Bharatpur, you will be placed in your tent arranged by Kahlur Adventures and later have your dinner under the open night sky. After dinner, you will retire to your tent for a good night’s sleep.

Acclimatisation in Bharatpur | Elevation: 4,500 M

By reaching Bharatpur, we have gained a considerable elevation and will be gaining even more in the coming days. So it is important to acclimatize your body. You can take small hikes nearby and adjust your body to the high altitude.

Day 05 – Bharatpur to Base Camp | Elevation: 5,200 M | Trek 4-5 Hrs

The day ahead is very exciting as you will trek to the base camp of Yunam Peak. The base camp is located near a small lake and will trek across the moraine with a gradual and will make steep ascent. After trekking for about 4 hours and crossing many streams you will reach the destination of the day. You will stay here for the night.

Day 06 – Acclimatization at Base Camp (Training day Day)| Elevation: 5,200 M

This day of the Mount Yunam Peak Expedition is reserved for Acclimatization. You will also get a briefing from the Kahlur Adventure’s trek leader followed by a training session. You will also need to prepare the equipment for the day of the summit. You will have your hot dinner in the midst of nature and stay here overnight.

Day 07 – Base Camp to Summit | Elevation: 6,111 M and Back to Base Camp | Elevation: 5,200 M

This is the most thrilling day of this expedition. The day will start early with a quick breakfast. You will begin the trek by climbing over moraines, pointy rocks, snow patches and the top of a snow wall that has a steep ascent. After trekking for a while, you will successfully summit Mount Yunam Peak. An accomplishment like this will remain with you forever. From here, you will get panoramic views of the nearby mountain ranges. You can rest here for a while and enjoy the beautiful landscape in front of you. After some time, you will begin descending towards the base camp. On reaching the base camp, you will have your meal and get your well-deserved rest for the night.

Day 08 – Back at the beginning 

On the last day of Yunam Peak Trek, you will have your breakfast in the lap of the mountains and begin the trek to Bharatpur. You will be descending on the familiar path. Upon reaching Bharatpur, you will board Kahlur Adventures’ vehicles and drive to Manali. You will say your goodbyes to our team once in Manali. We will make sure that you have a great adventure in the mountains will us.

Payment & Cancellation Policy:

When you have firmly decided to undertake the Tour with Kahlur Adventures, you will need to book the trip with us. We must allocate enough time to prepare, obtain necessary documents and permits, and book hotels and Transport for the trip.
25% advance during the time of booking for confirmation
50% Amount one month prior of arrival in India
25% Amount to be one week prior of arrival in India

Cancellation Policy:

• If the cancellation is made 30 days before the tour starts, 25% of the full payment will be deducted and 75% will be refunded.
• If the cancellation is made 20 days before the tour start, 35% of the full payment will be deducted and 70% will be refunded
• If the cancellation is made 07 days before the tour start, 80% will be deducted and 20% will be refunded.
• No refund is made if the trip is cancelled after the departure for Expedition.
• No refund is made during the running tour.
• The cost of travel permit or any other documentation charges will not be refundable

Note: Kahlur Adventures do all the ground operations in advance (As soon as we received the confirmation request from the guest). We pay advance payment to all our vendors to ensure all the services that we promise with the guest.
