Government Employees Special Casual Leave (SCL) for Trekking and Mountaineering
As a Government Employee, you can avail the benefit of Special Casual Leave when you join Kahlur Adventures on a trekking expedition of your choice. As per the rules of the Pay Commission, Special Casual Leave (SCL) can be availed for upto 30 days in a calendar year for mountaineering or trekking expeditions through a registered organization. As a registered travel and adventure company in the Indian Mountaineering Foundation (IMF) and the Ministry of Tourism, Kahlur Adventures is at your service with a team of highly efficient tour operators. Trekkers need to apply for leave at least 20 days prior to the departure date of the trek.

DETAILS ITINERARY OF THALAY SAGAR CLIMB:
Day 01- Arrive Delhi | Elevation: 300M
Welcome to Incredible India, the land of ancient history and culture. India has all the landscapes that are in nature. You will land in the capital of India, New Delhi. Kahlur Adventures’ airport representative will pick you up from the airport and take you to a hotel pre-booked for you. On this day, you can explore Delhi on your own and relish various cuisines and tourist spots. You will stay overnight at the hotel.

Day 02- Delhi – Rishikesh | Distance: 270 kms | Duration: 6 – 7 hours | Elevation: 340M
After a delicious breakfast, you will check out from the hotel and head to the Indian Mountaineering Foundation (IMF) for a briefing. After that, you will drive to Rishikesh accompanied by Kahlur Adventures’ representative. The drive from Delhi to Rishikesh is about 270 km and will take 6 to 7 hours. In Rishikesh, you will check into a hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 03- Rishikesh – Uttarkashi| Distance: 172Kms | Duration: 5 – 6 hours | Elevation: 1158M
Today after breakfast, you will start for Uttarkashi on a 5 to 6-hour drive. The drive from Rishikesh to Uttarkashi has beautiful sceneries to keep you glued to the window. Upon reaching Uttarkashi, you will be placed in a pre-booked hotel. After settling down and having lunch, you will visit the Nehru Institute of Mountaineering, local govt office for some documentation work. You will spend the night in the hotel.

Day 04- Uttarkashi – Gangotri | Distance: 102 kms | Duration: 3-4 hours | Elevation: 3415M
Your morning will start with a scrumptious breakfast at the hotel before checking out. You will start the drive to Gangotri, today’s destination via Harsil. After a 4-5 hours drive you will reach Gangotri and be placed in a hotel/Home Stay booked in advance by Kahlur Adventures for the night.

Day 05- Gangotri – Bhoj Kharak | Trek Distance: 08 km | Don: 4-5 hours | Elevation: 3780M
Today you will wake up in the lap of the mountains of India and have your breakfast before check out. You will begin the hike to Bhoj Kahrak. On this hike, you will traverse through the Fir forest and cross the Kedar Gorge. You will trek along the Keadr Ganga river for 8 km to reach the campsite. You will stay overnight in the Kahlur trekking tents.

Day 06- Bhoj Kharak – Kedar Kharak | Distance: 07 km | Duration: 4-5 hours | Elevation: 4913M
This day is very exciting as you will head to the difficult terrains and walk over boulders and terrains on your journey. The trek is about 5 km long and will take 4 to 5 hours. You need to keep up your pace as the elevation is high and steep which can be challenging. This trekking trail will take you through the Birch (Bhoj) forest. You will be mesmerized by the backdrop of Bhirgupanth Peak on the campsite. You will have dinner under the twinkling stars before retiring to the tents for a good night’s sleep.

Day 07- Kedar Kharak to Kedar Tal (Basecamp)|Distance: 08 km | Duration: 4-5 hours | Elevation: 4913M
Today you will trek from Kedar Kharak to Kedar Tal. You will hike through laborious terrains filled with boulders and stones. Keda Tal is the Basecamp of Mount Thalay Sagar peak.

Day 08 – Kedar Tal (Rest Day)
This day is reserved for acclimatization, In this day sherpa team prepared them self for load ferry and all guest climbers go for short hike for acclimatization and enjoy the view of Kedar Tal lake.

Day 09 to Day 25- Next 17 Days are for summit the Mount Thalay Sagar 6904 M
These are the most crucial days of the Thalay Sagar Expedition and you will set up camps at higher altitudes under the expert guidance of Kahlur Adventures’ Sherpa team. There will be attempts to summit Thalay Sagar Peak. Mount Thalay Sagar is a technical peak, it requires specific skills to navigate through the notorious band of shale and dangerous sharp rocks. Thalay Sagar is one of the most glorious and demanding mountain peaks in India. Scaling Thalay Sagar is a glorious accolade and dream of every daredevil mountaineer.

Day 26 – Kedar Tal to Kedar Kharak
After completing the summit of Mount Thalay Sagar, you will trace back the path to Kedar Kharak from Kedar Tal. In Kedar Kharak, you will spend the night in the tent.

Day 27 – Kedar Kharak to Gangotri to Uttarkashi
On this day, you will trek to Gangotri and later drive to Uttarkashi. Upon reaching Uttarkashi, you will check into a hotel and get a well-deserved relaxing night at the hotel.

Day 28 – Uttarkashi to Rishikesh
Today you will have your breakfast and head to Rishikesh. You will check into a hotel in Rishikesh for the night.

Day 29 – Rishikesh to Delhi, IMF De Briefing

When you have firmly decided to undertake the Tour with Kahlur Adventures, you will need to book the trip with us. We must allocate enough time to prepare, obtain necessary documents and permits, and book hotels and Transport for the trip.
25% advance during the time of booking for confirmation
50% Amount one month prior of arrival in India
25% Amount to be one week prior of arrival in India
• If the cancellation is made 30 days before the tour starts, 25% of the full payment will be deducted and 75% will be refunded.
• If the cancellation is made 20 days before the tour start, 35% of the full payment will be deducted and 70% will be refunded
• If the cancellation is made 07 days before the tour start, 80% will be deducted and 20% will be refunded.
• No refund is made if the trip is cancelled after the departure for Expedition.
