Imagine your pathway surrounded by pristine white snow and ecstatic views and when you reach the top of this peak your heart is filled with pride as you have achieved one of the greatest accomplishments of your life. You can experience all this on Mount Kun Peak Mountaineering Expedition. Mount Kun is a part of a snow-covered 4 km massif that has Mount Nun standing tall next to it. These twin mountains are the highest peak in the Zanskar valley of Ladakh. Similar to Mt Nun, the expedition to Mt Kun with Kahlur Adventures is filled with unforeseen challenges making it particularly exciting for the daredevils. At an impressive elevation of 7077 meters, the climb to Mt Kun peak offers an excursion that is a test of your physical and mental strength.

Every mountaineer dream of summiting the most strenuous yet sort-after peaks in India and around the world. If you are someone who is preparing to climb the prestigious Mt Everest or any other high-altitude mount peak above 7000 M mountains in India, Mt Kun gives you an opportunity to get a taste of it. The technical climb to Mt Kun is preferred by adventurous climbers all over the world as it gets your heart pumping with a rush of adrenaline. The extremely cold weather along with Mt Kun’s intimidating form, steep slopes, drastic climate changes and unannounced snow blizzard makes this climb exhilarating. Kahlur Adventures has a team of experienced expedition leaders and we make sure that our clients have a fruitful trek.

History of Mount Kun:

The massif that is house to both Mt Kun and Mt Nun is 250 km from Srinagar, located in the Suru valley of Kargil district. It may also excite you that another marvel of nature, Pinnacle Peak (6930 M) is located northeast of Mt Nun, it is the third highest peak in this stunning massif. As you reach Leh, you get the sight of these captivating snow-clad mountain peaks all the way up making the whole journey picturesque. The first successful summit of the peaks of Mount Kun dates back to 1913 by an Italian mountaineering team led by Mario Lorenzo Borelli. After this, the second summit of Mt Kun was accomplished by the Indian Army expedition in 1971, after long fifty-eight years. An expedition to Mount Kun, one of the mountains of India is still a stupendous feat.

These rather demanding factors of the Mount Kun expedition in India require the climbers to have a specific set of skills and professional climbing certification or alternative climbing experience in high-altitude mountaineering. Climbing the Nun Kun Peaks in India is often planned as a double expedition for both mountains. Kun Climbing, Hiking and Mountaineering expedition in India is reserved for seasoned climbers only. Among other Indian Himalayas above 7000 M expedition in India, Mt Kun’s 7077 M Peak provides the perfect pre-Everest training expedition. We at Kahlur Adventures provide a fully guided tour to Mt Kun peak. We have a soft spot for adventures and are dedicated to planning the best climbing expedition in India.
