Mount Nun Expedition India:

Glittering with its snow-capped head, Mount Nun shines bright at the height of 7135 meters among the nearby mountain ranges in the Zanskar range and suru valley of Ladakh. The enormous Mt Nun stands right next to its twin peak Mt Kun 7077 M, the former being the tallest Himalayan mountain peak in Ladakh Climbing Mt Nun’s demanding peaks is not an easy feat and requires prior experience and familiarity with mountaineering equipment. Kahlur Adventures facilitates the dreams of adventurous mountain lovers to reach their goal of the summit of Mount Nun Peak in India. The conspicuously changing weather conditions on Nun expedition India are often unforgiving and test the resilience of the mountaineers attempting to take on this strenuous task. As you arrive in Kargil, Mount Nun proudly grabs your attention with its magnificent brilliance and you get its view all along your way to Tangol Village. The expedition to Mount Nun keeps you on your toes as the climb is loaded with unforeseen challenges along with the rigorous formation of glaciers, icefall slopes, vertical ice walls, sharp-edged ridges, steep cliffs, and dramatic weather changes. While all the 7000ers peaks of India are quite difficult, the Mt Nun expedition can be backbreaking without former experience of climbing technical mountain peaks and you need to be physically as well as mentally prepared. This is the reason that you need mountaineering certification or similar experience in high altitude climbing.

History of Mount Nun:

Mount Nun Kun Massif peaks in India shares a snowy plateau that stretches 4 kilometers between Mt Nun and Mt Kun. This massif is in the Kargil district and is located in Suru valley about 250 km from Srinagar and from Leh to Kargil 216Km. The exciting part of the Mount Nun expedition is that it gives you an idea of how it would be to climb up some of the highest mountain peaks in the world even Mount Everest (8849 M). The first-ever expedition to the majestic Mount Nun was done in 1953 by Pierre Vittoz and pioneering female mountaineer Claude Kogan. We at Kahlur adventures organize a fully guided expedition to Mount Nun and believe that every mountaineer who dreams big should get the means to achieve their goal.

The extremely cold temperature and aggressive wind make this grueling terrain even more unfavorable. To reach the top of this above 7000 M peak in India you need a certain skill set and strength of mind and body. However, under the guidance of Kahlur Adventures’ experienced group leader and climbing Everester Sherpa, you are in safe hands. The challenging nature of the Nun expedition has made it super popular among the daredevil mountaineers. You get a hefty sum of adrenaline as the powerful wind moves you in all directions and the unpredictable weather can change in a matter of hours. Mt Nun expedition is perfect for pre-Everest training peak in India and training ground for 7000M and above mountains peaks.
